Candida

What is candida?
Candida albicans is a single celled fungus which is always present in the intestinal and genital tracts. When it is present in disproportionate quantities it can cause infection. Candida can affect various parts of the body including: the mouth, ears, nose, toenails, fingernails, gastrointestinal tract and the vagina.

Symptoms:

The symptoms are varied and can include: constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headaches, bad breath, impotence, memory loss, mood swings, persistent heart burn, sore throat, congestion, acne, severe itching, extreme fatigue, depression, hyperactivity, kidney and bladder infections and even diabetes. These symptoms often become worse after the consumption of sugar and/or yeast.

The Art and Science of Relaxation

For most of us when asked the question” Do you relax?” you will most probably reply yes and then proceed to list a series of things that you DO to relax for example watching a movie, reading a book, swimming, running, walking, having tea with a friend…..
Whilst all of these activities provide you with an enjoyable feeling, they do not specifically relax you.

Relaxation is both an art and a science. It is something that seems so simple, yet so few of us know how to do it and fewer even do it. Most of us simply try to stay “afloat” with all the demands made on our time and the demands and expectations that we have of ourselves that we end up suffering from the negative effects of stress which include: Fatigue, listlessness, moodiness, irritability, insomnia, anxiety, headaches, lack of concentration, depression and numerous stress related illnesses.
